JAMMU, Aug 24: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DF&SS) held protest against former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s Taliban remarks.
A large number of workers of DF&SS led by President Ashok Gupta assembled here and raised slogans against former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. The protestors also burnt the posters of Mehbooba Mufti to express their anguish against her.
While addressing the gathering, Gupta said that such remarks from an Ex-CM seem that she is trying to instigate people and divide them on religious lines.
“She should be ashamed of her remarks. It looks like she is hatching a conspiracy to divide the people of J&K”, he added.
He said People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) held a meeting today to discuss the prevailing situation in the Union Territory and have wider consultations on the way forward for restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Articles 370 and 35A will never be restored. Both Prime Minister and Home Minister of India have clearly said in parliament that the statehood will be restored only after the situation normalizes and improves”, Gupta said and added that in case the Union Government fails to do it, he will be the first person to hit the roads to protest along with party workers.
The party workers who were present at the time of protest were Abhishek, Manu, Naresh, Kalu, Prem, Bantu, Fauji, Ashish, etc.
