JAMMU, Aug 25: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DFSS) today took out a protest procession from the main bazaars of the City against the steep price rise in vegetables and other essential commodities.
The protestors under the leadership of DFSS president, Ashok Gupta, took out the procession from Parade Ground to City Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that Central Government has totally failed on all fronts and the people across the Country are facing the worst phase in their lives. The vegetable prices are in the hands of the mafia and administration has no control over them nor are they taking any step to address the issue, he added.
“The prices of vegetables are touching sky height, as UPA Government has failed to check price rise because of its faulty economic policy and rampant corruption”, he said adding the foodgrains worth Rs 60,000 crore get rotten in godowns while the Government took no steps to prevent or utilize the same.
He further said that falling Indian rupee against US dollar reflects gross miss management of Indian economy by the present UPA Government.
