JAMMU, May 1: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DFSS) under the leadership of Ashok Gupta today took out a procession from Jewel Chowk to Press Club, Jammu, against the non-availability of water and electricity in this scorching heat.
By holding empty utensils, fans and water buckets in their hands, the workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena, raised slogans against the PDD and PHE Departments.
They questioned the administration why every year after Darbar move, Jammuites have to face long power cuts and scarcity of water, when the people are paying hefty charges for electricity and water. They also alleged that the PHE tankers, which are supposed to supply drinking water in water deficit areas, are selling the same to private agencies for commercial purposes.
The protestors also raised slogans against the CAPD Department for non-availability of ration in many depots and misuse of BPL ration quota. They demanded a high level inquiry into the misuse of BPL ration quota, which they alleged is not being distributed among the real beneficiaries.
