DFSS takes out protest procession

JAMMU, June 13: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena today took out a protest procession against the State Government’s discrimination with Jammu region on disbursement of electricity.
The procession was taken out by hundreds of DFSS workers under the leadership of Ashok Gupta from  Raj Tilak Road to Press Club.
By holding electric fans, mattkas, taps and hand fans in their hands, protestors raised slogans against the PDD and State Government.
Lambasting the Government for its highly biased approach, Gupta pointed towards the most obnoxious aspects of power distribution within the State. Citing figures, he said that the power consumption between Jammu and Kashmir regions is in the ration of 40:60 respectively but when it comes to revenue realisation Jammu contributes more than 66% of power tariff with barely 33 % coming from Kashmir region.
He said that the people of Jammu are paying their bills regularly but still they are facing 8-12 hours of power cut. This, he said indicates the highly biased, parochial and discriminatory approach of the State Government with regard to supply of power and revenue collection vis a vis the two regions of the State.
Gupta said that the Sena has vowed to fight such discriminatory tactics of the Government tooth and nail.
