DG BRO inspects snow clearance

Srinagar, Apr 16: Director General (DG) Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Lt General Suresh Sharma, concluded his three-day Valley visit.
A BRO spokesman said the DG during his visit toured extensively by air and road to assess the progress of various ongoing works. “The DG BRO interacted with GOC Chinar Corps and other formation commanders to know the user satisfaction levels and their perspective,” he said.
With Border Roads at cross roads today and user satisfaction being paramount, the DG BRO emphasized that concerted efforts be made to construct roads with better specifications in the near future, the spokesman said, adding that the productivity and quality are his key result areas.
“The DG visited the Zojila Pass and reviewed snow clearance operations to open the pass. He was satisfied with the progress and complimented the BRO team,” the spokesman said. He also went through Rajdhan Pass, Zamidar Gali and Sadhna(Narta Chun)Pass. He traveled to Gureiz, Machal and Tangdhar.
He had detailed discussions with Chief Engineer, Brigadier A K Das and the Task Force commanders to find practical solutions to energise the ongoing works. This working season is important to achieve desired results with renewed efforts at all levels, the spokesman added.
