DG BSF pats troops for killing armed terrorists

JAMMU: On the eve of Republic Day celebrations, Director General BSF K K Sharma today interacted troops at forward border outposts in Jammu and lauded them for neutralising three armed terrorists on border in November last year.

Rather than attending the ceremonial functions in New Delhi, K K Sharma, DG BSF today celebrated the Republic Day with troops at the most sensitive Jammu Frontier, official spokesperson here said.        He said that in this high alert situation, and inspite of the inclement weather, he visited the forward Border Out posts in the Arnia and Samba sectors of Jammu to boost the morale of jawans and show solidarity with them during the tough times.

“During the interaction, he was very appreciative of the argus-eyed BSF jawan who guards the nation’s border 24x7x365 despite all whether conditions,” said the spokesperson, adding that he also congratulated the jawans for successfully neutralizing the three heavily armed militants who tried to infiltrate to Indian side on November 29, 2017.

He said that going by the recoveries made from the slain militants, a very major security threat was averted which could have led to a big terrorist action and huge damage to national property. He further apprised the jawans that Government recognizes their contribution towards national security and is always eager to address their concerns. (AGENCIES)
