JAMMU, Oct 18: As a part of Government initiative for Jan Abhiyan before B2V4 programme, Director General, Floriculture, Parks & Gardens, Jammu Jatinder Singh today visited Block Rajpura, Village Sarthi Kalan in District Samba to attend training/awareness camp of progressive farmers on commercial floriculture.
A total of 45 progressive farmers attended the training/awareness camp along with female farmers having interest in floricultural activities.
Director General highlighted various ongoing schemes of commercial floriculture of the department besides elaborating on the directions of the Government to observe Jan Abhiyan as a period of carrying out activities focused on achieving specific deliverables assigned to each Department.
Under Jan Abhiyan awareness to 1000 farmers have to be imparted in 10 districts of Jammu Province by the Floriculture, Parks & Gardens Department Jammu. While interacting with progressive growers, the District Officer Floriculture explained all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes related to floriculture sector that would increase the income of the farmers and emphasized on protected cultivation of high value flower Crops and cultivation of medicinal plants.
Director General alongwith DDC Member Asha Rani and Atul Sharma District Office, felicitated progressive farmer Parshotam Singh to boost the commercial floriculture activity.
