NEW DELHI: The 49th Director General level Border Co-ordination Conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)) began in here on Thursday.
The 11-member delegation of BGB, headed by DG General Md Shafeenul Islam, joined the formal talk with a 10-member Indian delegation, headed by BSF DG Vivek Johri. The two sides have been discussing the border-related issues and better coordination between the border guarding forces.
According to BSF officials, both sides have been agreed to talk on the issues related to the killings and attacks on BSF personnel and Indian civilians by Bangladesh criminals and miscreants, joint efforts to prevent trans-Border crimes such as cattle smuggling, smuggling of fake Indian Currency notes, gold smuggling, illegal migration and human trafficking, illegal crossing by nationals of countries other than Bangladesh, action against Indian insurgent Groups and issues related with border infrastructure.
