DG NACO inaugurates ‘Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra’

Srinagar, Aug 9: The Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra was inaugurated today at SKIMS by DG, National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), V. Hekali Zhimomi, along with Director of SKIMS, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, and Project Director of J&K AIDS Control Society.
The Sampoorna Suraksha program aims to protect ‘at-risk’ HIV-negative populations by providing a cyclical and comprehensive package of tailored services.
“This approach is designed to maintain their HIV-negative status and support the country’s efforts in preventing new HIV infections,” SKIMS said in a statement.
On the occasion, the Additional Secretary also presented the NABL Accreditation Certificate and Certificate of Excellence to Director SKIMS Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie and HoD Immunology SKIMS Prof. Zaffar Amin Shah.
Director SKIMS Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie briefed the team, led by the Additional Secretary & DG NACO, about the facilities and infrastructure at SKIMS.
He emphasized the need for SKIMS to be included in various national schemes to improve services and further enhance capacity building at SKIMS.
Hekali appreciated the SKIMS administration for their services and assured full support while interacting with the faculty and officers at SKIMS.
Later, she visited the Viral Diagnostic Research Lab of the Microbiology Department and other related facilities at SKIMS.
The visiting team, headed by Additional Secretary & DG NACO MoH&FW, included Dr. Chinmoyee Das, PHS Grade-I & HoD, SI Division, NACO; Dr. Abdul Rouf Bhat, Project Director, JKSACS; Dr. Manu Bhatnagar, Additional Director, JKSACS; and Dr. Monika Wal, Medical Officer, JKSACS.
