JAMMU, Mar 6: A 3-days training programme “Human Rights and Prison Management” sponsored by Bureau of Police Research and Department, MHA, Govt. of India and organized by the J&K Prisons Department was inaugurated today by P.L. Gupta, Director General of Prisons .
The training programme was organized with an aim of developing a common understanding among the participants related to human rights and rights of prisoners. The Resource Persons for the 3 days will include Senior Police Officers, eminent Social Activists and faculty from the University of Jammu who will deliver lecture on important topics related to Human Right Issues in Reformation & Rehabilitation of Prisoners, Role of Judiciary in Reformation & Rehabilitation of prisoners, Special categories of prisoners and their needs and violence against women – Human and health rights of prisoners and Prison Management .
Participants from different States and prison officers from the state are attending the training programme.
