DG Prisons reviews security of Leh Jail

SRINAGAR, Oct 20: Director General Prisons  K. Rajendra Kumar, visited Leh Jail to review the security and take stock of facilities being provided to the inmates there.
A statement of the police said Kumar directed the officers to maintain a foolproof security of the jail and keep close vigil to thwart any untoward incident. He laid stress on augmentation of reformatory, recreational and rehabilitation facilities for the jail inmates.
The DG Prisons visited the barracks where about two dozen inmates including three foreigners interacted with him. He enquired about the various facilities being provided to them. He assured that all legitimate help will be provided and more efforts will be put in to improve the living conditions of the inmates.
He was accompanied by SP Leh Vivek Gupta and Medical Superintendent Leh N Nurbo Angchok.
