SRINAGAR, Dec 4: Director General of Prisons K. Rajendra Kumar today visited Central Jail, Srinagar and directed the concerned to provide all assistance to the inmates and their visitors as provided under the jail manual.
A police spokesman said Rajendra interacted with the jail inmates in the barracks and enquired from the prisoners about the facilities being provided to them by the jail authorities.
He also interacted with visitors at the Central Jail and gave patient hearing to their grievances.
The DG directed the jail authorities to provide all assistance to the jail inmates and their visitors as laid down under the Jail Manual.
He chaired a security review meeting that was attended by IG CRPF, DIG CRPF, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahamd Shah, SSP Srinagar Ashiq Bukhari and SP Central Jail Mohammad Ayub.
