SRINAGAR, Mar 5: Director General of Rural Sanitation, Jammu & Kashmir, Anoo Malhotra, today spearheaded the inauguration of a daylong capacity building workshop on Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) in Srinagar.
Joined by Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Secretary, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Director, Rural Development Department Kashmir, and Altaf Hussain, Deputy Director, Rural Sanitation, Kashmir, the event garnered attention from various Governmental sectors.
Anoo Malhotra emphasized the critical role of effective FSM in safeguarding public health and environmental sustainability.
With the participation of Assistant Commissioners of Panchayats, Block Development Officers, and engineers from diverse Governmental departments, the workshop aimed to fortify the knowledge and expertise of district-level officers.
This collective effort sought to tackle the challenges and harness the opportunities associated with FSM, thus reinforcing the significance of sustaining the Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus status.
The day’s agenda encompassed informative sessions, fostering interactive dialogues and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
