DGP asks cops to remain extra vigilant in view of LS polls

JAMMU, Mar 4: The Director General of Police Ashok Parsad today asked Police personnel to remain extra vigilant in view of forthcoming Parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The DGP was addressing cops during a Darbar of Police personnel posted in Poonch district.
The Darbar was organized with an aim to reduce the communication gap among the subordinates and senior officers. The DGP was accompanied by Rajesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Zone and Ashok Kumar Atri, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range.
The DGP listened to  the police personnel who highlighted various issues, including  regularization and enhancement of honorarium of SPOs, enhancement of ration money allowance, quota in police recruitment for the wards of serving and  retired police personnel, changing the pattern of uniform to make it more comfortable and operational etc.
DGP informed the police personnel that most of the projections were already under the active consideration of police headquarters, Central / State Government and regarding other grievances same would be addressed as early as possible.
The DGP complimented the good work done by District Police Poonch in handling Law and Order and on anti-militancy front. He impressed upon the police personnel to work with sincerity and dedication and maintain good police-public relations.
IGP Rajesh Kumar also spoke on the occasion and discussed various issues related to the welfare of police personnel initiated by the Police headquarters.
Earlier in his welcome address, SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain highlighted the achievements of District Police Poonch on crime, Law & Order and on anti-militancy front.
ASP Poonch Amit Gupta, DySP Hqrs. Deepak Digra, DySP DAR Khalid Amin, SDPO Mendhar Surinder Kumar, DySP (Ops) Javaid Iqbal Naaz, NGOs and other ranks were also present on the occasion.
