SRINAGAR, Sept 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police is upgrading its building infrastructure to provide living and working facilities to its personnel. Various residential and office accommodations have been constructed across the State to strengthen the building infrastructure under the modernization scheme.
This was disclosed by the Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad while commissioning the Model Police Station building at Batmaloo here this morning. He said that in view of the increasing manpower, the Organization has been focussing to upgrade the facilities for its personnel as per the latest requirements. The constructions are made keeping in mind the modern facilities and techniques.
Mr. Prasad appreciated the efforts of the officers and engineers of Police Housing Corporation (PHC) for ensuring quality material and time bound construction of the buildings. He asked them to keep in mind weather scenario of the particular area before finalizing the plans of construction in that area. He said that the constructions should be equipped with latest facilities of living and working including recreational facilities for the personnel, who are always found busy facing tough situations. Proper supervision by the senior officers would make performance more fruitful, said the DGP.
Before commissioning the building, the DGP was briefed by Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation, Alok Puri and the Executive Engineer, PHC, Nissar Ahmed about the construction of the Police Station Building. He was told that the building, in the midst of its jurisdiction is having hostel facilities and residential quarters.
On the occasion, the DGP also discussed the pace of progress achieved on other works presently under execution in Kashmir Division. ADGP (Headquarters), S. P. Vaid apprised the DGP about the present status of these constructions. He assured that all the constructions would be completed within the time frame.
Among others, the function was attended by ADGP, Dr. Ram Lubhaya, IGPs, V. K. Singh, S. M. Sahai, A. K. Choudhary, H. K. Lohia, Rauf-ul-Hassan, A. G. Mir, M. Sulaiman Salaria, Dr. K. K. Saini, Yoginder Koul and Muneer Ahmed Khan, DIGs, R. P. Resutra, Showkat Malik and Syed Ahfadul Mujtaba, SSP Srinagar, Syed A. H. Bukhari, AIG, (Building), Shabir Ahmed and other police officers.
