DGP for coordinated, synergised efforts for smooth ID celebrations

SRINAGAR, Aug 12: Calling for a coordinated and synergized efforts from different agencies for the smooth conduct of the Independence Day functions across the State, the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today said that fool proof security arrangements should be put in place for ensuring hassle free celebrations.
Mr. Rajendra was addressing officers of State Police, Central Para-Military Police Forces (CPMF) and Civil Administration during a review meeting convened this evening to discuss the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations in the State.
He asked the officers to work out a mechanism so that the efforts of all security agencies as well as the civil administration are properly coordinated at grass root level so that lacunae, if any, is removed and smooth celebrations are ensured.
The DGP was briefed by different agencies, police and civil administration about the arrangements being put in place all across the State for smooth and peaceful celebrations of the Independence Day. He was told that the adequate and necessary mechanism has been ensured so that hassle free celebrations are carried out at all  district headquarters, sub divisions and tehsils.
It was also given out that adequate deployment has also been ensured at various sensitive places in order to thwart the nefarious designs of anti-national elements. Special focus has been given to the Bakshi Stadium in the Srinagar, where the main event is being organised.
Mr. Rajendra asked the officers to provide all the means so that maximum participation of the people in these events is ensured as they are anxiously waiting to participate in these events. He also directed for putting in place adequate traffic arrangements so that people can easily come to the Bakshi Stadium and various other venues for participating in the celebrations and also called for ensuring proper parking facilities for the masses.
During the meeting, Additional Director General of Police (Armed), SM Sahai, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal and IGP Kashmir, AG Mir also addressed the meeting and gave a detailed brief about the arrangements made for the event.
Among others, the meeting was attended by IGPs, Dr. B. Srinivas, Mubarak Ahmad Ganai, DIGs, Vijay Kumar and Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Director SSG, Parminder Singh, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, SSP, Srinagar, Amit Kumar and other senior officers  from CPMF and police.
