DGP grants meritorious scholarship, special rewards for wards of police personnel

Srinagar June 6: Encouraging the meritorious wards of Police personnel Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh has granted meritorious scholarship and special reward of Rs 5,70,000 in favour of 114 wards of serving police personnel.
These mtorious scholarship have been sanctioned in favour of 112 wards of police personnel for their brilliant performance in annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2018. Of these meritorious wards 60 are girls.
The scholarship of Rs 6000 each has been granted in favour of 51 wards for securing above 90% marks and Rs 4000 each have been granted in favour of 61 wards who have secured eighty percent and above marks in the class 10th examination.
Meanwhile, the DGP granted special reward of Rs 10,000 each along with Commendation Certificate Class-1 in favour of two wards of serving police personnel for qualifying National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) during the year 2018-19.
The reward and scholarship have been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund. Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships and rewards under different heads for the wards of martyred and serving police personnel to boost their morale.
