JAMMU, Mar 4: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh today visited the Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) in Vijaypur.
During his visit, he inaugurated various facilities for the trainees and staff, including an automobile workshop, a hydraulic lift, a conference hall, a canteen block, a modular kitchen, a synthetic badminton court, a net practicing cricket pitch, and a disaster management outdoor lab.
He also launched the PTTI website and handed over ISO certification to the Principal of PTTI Vijaypur, making it the first J&K Police Training Institute to receive this certification.
During his interaction with the officers, the top cop directed the Principal PTTI to focus on technical courses in view of the changing scenario and new challenges.
He also stressed the importance of upgrading and enhancing the technical skills of the team deputed at the Institute and providing training with the latest technology and equipment to match present-day demands. Additionally, he suggested organizing modules and interaction between trainees and nearby school students, as well as trekking activities.
Addressing the Darbar of trainees, staff, and officers of the Institute, the DGP Dilbag Singh appreciated the initiatives taken by the incumbent and former principals to improve the basic training facilities and upgrade the training capacity.
He emphasized the need for continuous improvement in the training facilities according to the changing scenario and emerging requirements, and assured all possible help and assistance to achieve this. He also appreciated the staff’s contribution and thanked the visiting faculty for their support in enhancing the trainees’ capabilities.
