DGP presents cheques to martyrs families

SRINAGAR, Oct 15: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has presented cheques of Rs 1.5 lakh each to the families of two martyrs at a function at Police Headquarters here today.
The cheques were provided by the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kutch Gujarat as a token of financial help from the society to the martyrs’ families.
The cheques of Rs 1.50 lakh each were received by Hajra Begum, mother of martyr SgCt Ghulam Mustafa and Raja Begum, mother of martyr SgCt Naseer Ahmed. The brave sons of the recipients had attained martyrdom in an encounter with terrorists at village Khanoo Babgund Handwara on March 1st this year.
On the occasion, the DGP talked on phone to Dinesh Gupta President Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kutch Gujarat and thanked him for providing financial help to J&K Police martyrs families.
DGP conveyed to Gupta that the gesture of providing financial help shows that the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industry cares for those who are sacrificing their near and dear ones for the country.
He said that the brave officers and jawans of J&K Police are sacrificing their precious lives for the security of the people and also upholding the integrity of the nation.
DGP also interacted with NoKs of these martyrs and said that J&K Police is always at their beck and call.
