DGP promotes 93 cops, sanctions retirement gift to 80

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Dilbag Singh has issued promotion/In-situ promotion orders in favour of 93 Police officers/officials of UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
A handout of police department stated that Departmental Promotion Committee under the chairmanship of the DGP J&K issued promotion orders of 16 Sub-Inspectors of Ladakh Union Territory to the rank of Inspectors, 22 Assistant Sub-Inspectors of J&K Executive Cadre to the rank of Sub-Inspectors besides other 55 officers/officials have been given grade promotion.
Congratulating the promoted cops and their families, the DGP expressed hope that they will continue to work with more zeal and enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, as a token of appreciation for their services to the department, the DGP today sanctioned retirement gift of Rs. 60 lakh in favour of 80 cops of J&K Police who retired from their active services today after attaining superannuation or on voluntary retirement.
Vide a PHQ Order the retirement gift was sanctioned in favour of 80 cops which include five gazetted officers, 49 non-gazetted officers, 19 lower subordinates and seven followers. These personnel belong to different units and wings of police department.
A handout of police department stated that retirement gift of Rs. 75,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of police personnel from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund at the time of their retirement. The gift serves as a token of appreciation for their services rendered to the department.
As a gesture of welfare, the Police Headquarter (PHQ) has sanctioned over Rs. 8.26 crore retirement gift in favour of 1103 police personnel this year so far.
