DGP regularizes 179 SPOs

SRINAGAR, June 26: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, today ordered absorption of 179 SPOs as Followers in Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The orders have been issued by the Police Headquarters (PHQ) on the recommendations of Police Establishment Board (PEB) in recognition to their extra ordinary contribution in maintaining peace and order in the State.
Issuing orders, Rajendra said that the promoted SPOs demonstrated great valour and courage while safeguarding the people and their properties at different places in the State. He said that police has a primary role to maintain peace and order, ensuring dignity and honour of the people of the State. The promoted personnel by the dint of their dedication and courage have contributed in maintaining the peace in the State.
The DGP said that the SPOs absorbed as Followers have been rubbing shoulders with other police personnel in maintaining law and order, besides other public services.
Rajendra reiterated that the performance of SPOs in public service is recorded at Range, Zone and PHQ level and recognized through their absorptions in the department from time to time. He said that every member of police parivar has to work with dedication providing better service to the people of the State.
Rajendra congratulated the promoted SPOs and asked them to rededicate themselves for public service. He said that the department would take efforts to create promotion avenues for all ranks of the force and the vacancies in the department would be fulfilled on priority.
