SRINAGAR, Aug 16: Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh today visited Baramulla and Bandipora Districts of North Kashmir where he reviewed security/ law and order situation.
He also chaired meetings of Police officers and Central Para Military Forces to take stock of the present security scenario in these districts.
Mr Singh who was accompanied by IGP Kashmir, SP Pani stressed upon the officers to strengthen the security grid. He also stressed that strict action should be taken against the rumour mongers, trying to create panic.
The officers stationed and deployed in these districts briefed the DGP about the ground situation. The DGP impressed upon the officers to work in complete coordination and implement the plans as envisaged.
The DGP first visited the Bandipora district where he chaired joint meeting of CAPFs and Police. The meeting was attended by DIG BSF BB Sidrah, SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik, Commandant IRP 8th Bn, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Commandants of BSF and CRPF.
At Baramulla, DGP felicitated Shaurya Chakra awardee HC Subhash Chander in presence of IGP Kashmir, IGP Armed Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG Baramulla Suliman Choudhary, SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom, CO 13 Bn JKAP Aijaz Ahmed and Addl SP Baramulla, Mohammed Yousuf Chowdhary.
Pertinent to mention here that HC Subash Chander was awarded Shaurya Chakra on Independence day along with martyrs SI Imran Tak and SPO/Follower Aashiq Malik.
