KISHTWAR, Sept 17: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh today visited Kishtwar and reviewed security scenario in the district.
The DGP was received by IGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, DIG Doda-Kishtwar Range BS Tuti, DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh, SSP Kishtwar Harmeet Singh and other officers. He was given a ceremonial guard of houour on his arrival.
During his visit, the DGP interacted with the police and Army personnel at Marwah and Kishtwar. He chaired officers’ meeting and reviewed the security scenario of the district. Interacting with the officers, he said with continuous efforts and sacrifices of police and security forces, the graph of terrorist activities is decreasing on each passing day.
The DGP had detailed discussions with the jurisdictional officers, Army and CAPF at these places, regarding the counter insurgency operations. He emphasized on enhanced coordination and synergy among all security agencies for achieving desired results. The DGP said that, we have faced various challenges in the form of terrorism and law and order and added that Jawans and officers faced these challenges bravely and foiled all attempts made by the elements bent to disrupt peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dilbag Singh directed the officers and Jawans to continue to remain alert for efficient maintenance in peace as has been done in the past so many days after reorganization of J&K. He once again highlighted the crucial rule being played by the Police including SPOs on different levels. He also highlighted the steps taken for the welfare of SPOs and police personnel in recent past. He also complimented the role of various security forces and agencies assisting Police in successful handling of security/law & order duties.
At district police office Kishtwar, the meeting was attended by all the senior police officers of Kishtwar district and officers from CRPF and Army, besides, IGP Jammu Zone, DIG DKR Range, SSP Operation Jammu, Sandeep Mehta and Commandant IRP 22nd Battalion, Shivdeep Singh. During the meeting, SSP Kishtwar apprised the DGP about the present security situation in the district and steps being taken to tighten the security grid to counter any possible terrorist activity.
Earlier, the DGP inaugurated CCTV monitoring system at Police Control Room, Kishtwar. Inaugurating the system, the DGP directed the monitoring team to maintain vigil on the activities of anti-national, anti-social elements and trouble mongers.
