SRINAGAR, Jan 8: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh visited the twin South districts Shopian and Pulwama today and reviewed security scenario viz winter arrangements for police personnel.
The DGP was accompanied by the IGP CRPF (Ops) Rajesh Kumar, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG SKR Atul Kumar Goel and DIG CRPF Awantipora BS Negi. DGP was received at these districts by the district SPs Shopian and Pulwama. Ceremonial guards of honour were presented to the DGP, on his arrival in these districts.
DGP Dilbag Singh chaired the officers meetings at both the district headquarters which were attended by the concerned district SPs, all DySPs along with jurisdictional SHOs and DOs of the districts. After getting a briefing from the concerned district SPs regarding the security scenario in these districts, the DGP addressed the jurisdictional officers.
In his address, the DGP stressed upon officers to be vigilant as the enemies of peace are looking for the chances to disrupt the peace. He said that the peaceful atmosphere in the Jammu and Kashmir has been achieved after a lot of hard work and sacrifices by police and security forces.
DGP impressed upon the officers that the safety and security of the people is our prime concern. He said that JKP along with other sister agencies have succeeded in creating a sense of security among the minds of the people. He also impressed upon the officers to work with full professionalism, sincerity and in a dedicated manner for the welfare of the people while taking due care of their security. He advised the police to continue their fight against the drugs and book all those involved in this menace.
During these meetings, the DGP also took stock of the winter arrangements for the police personnel. He directed the officers to take care of jawans immediate needs, so that he can face the challenges while performing day/night duties, particularly during the winter months.
The meeting at Shopian was attended by SP Shopian Sandeep Choudhary, Additional SP Shopian Arif Amin Shah, Commandant CRPF 14th Battalion Vishal Kandwal and other jurisdictional officers including DySPs. The meeting at Pulwama was attended by SP Pulwama Chandan Kohli, Additional SP Pulwama Anwar-Ul-Haq and other jurisdictional officers including DySPs.
