SRINAGAR, Oct 10: Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, has approved a sum of Rs 1.38 crore as special welfare relief for the Next of the Kin (NoK) of six deceased personnel and one Special Police Officer (SPO).
As per a statement, each NoK of the deceased police personnel-ASI Narider Singh, ASI Rajesh Kumar, HC Mushtaq Ahmad, HC Ashok Kumar, HC Sajad Ahmad, and Selection Grade Constable (SgCT) Avinash Kumar-who passed away while serving, will receive a special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh.
Additionally, a special welfare relief of Rs 6 lakh has been sanctioned for the dependents/legal heirs of the late SPO Narbat Singh, who succumbed to illness during his tenure with the department.
It’s worth noting that an immediate relief of Rs 1 lakh each had already been provided to the families/NoK to assist with the last rites, courtesy of the Police Headquarters through their respective units and districts.
This financial assistance stems from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and the Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs, reflecting the commitment of the Police Headquarters towards the well-being of its personnel and their families.
