DGP sanctions over Rs 83 lakh for NoKs of deceased cops

JAMMU, May 18: With an aim to provide financial succor to the families of the police personnel/SPOs who have attained martyrdom or have passed away while in service, Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, Dilbag Singh sanctioned Rs 83 lakh as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of such deceased police personnel/SPOs.
The DGP also sanctioned an ex-gratia relief of Rs 5 lakh in favour of dependents/legal heirs of martyr Constable/GD Mukhtar Ahmad Doie of 14th Battalion CRPF who attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack.
The special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each was also sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Senior Grade Constable Mubark Ahmad and Constable Khurshid Ahmad who passed away due to illness/road accident while in service. Vide another order of PHQ, a sum of Rs 15 lakh was sanctioned in favour of NoKs of Head Constable Subash Chander who was critically injured due to accidental bullet injury from his service rifle and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Jammu while in service.
Similarly, Rs 6 lakh each as Special Welfare Relief was sanctioned in favour of NoKs of deceased SPOs Ali Mohammad Bhat, Shabir Ahmad and Ganesh Lal who passed away during the course of their engagement in the department.
