DGP sanctions reward, scholarship, welfare relief

SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh has sanctioned reward for police personnel, scholarship for wards of police cops and welfare relief for retired police personnel.
As per official spokesman, DGP Dilbag Singh today rewarded 51 personnel of district Bandipora and Police Training School, Manigam. Rs 1000 each has been sanctioned in favour of these personnel for exhibiting excellent weapon drill and turn out while presenting guard of honour to the DGP during his visit to District Banidpora and PTS Manigam.
Dilbag recently sanctioned reward in favour of 78 police personnel of Sopore, Baramulla, Handwara, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and Awantipora districts for exhibiting excellent weapon drill and turn out while presenting guard of honour during DGP’s visit to these districts.
The spokesman said that DGP also granted scholarships of Rs 9.69 lakh in favour of 161 wards of serving police personnel and police martyrs. Welfare relief was also sanctioned for 16 retired police personnel by the DGP.
109 wards of serving police personnel were granted scholarship for securing eighty per cent and above marks in class 10th during the academic session 2017-2018 and 52 wards of police martyrs studying in different classes were granted scholarships.
“DGP also sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 1.60 lakh in favour of 16 retired police personnel who were found in dire need of financial assistance. Besides financial assistance of Rs 50000 was sanctioned for a police man whose residential house was damaged.
