DGP sanctions rewards for 292 personnel

JAMMU, Nov 29: Recognizing the spirit of public service, bravery and human values, exhibited by the personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police in recent floods, Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, today sanctioned cash reward of Rs.2.92 lakh for different ranks of the force.
The decision was taken at a meeting of senior police officers held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this morning. Presiding the meeting, Mr. Rajendra said that devastating floods damaged properties at a large scale in the Valley and some parts of the Jammu division and the personnel of JKP, despite loosing their personal properties, immediately braced up themselves in their jurisdictions and saved a number of human lives in the flood hit areas.
The personnel of different wings of the force, ignoring their personal comforts were found busty in rescuing the affected people in different areas to safer locations.
Mr. Rajendra reiterated that JKP has been focussing on human values and public service, and would always be ready to help the people in the time of need. The force, besides its professional duties would keep itself engaged in safeguarding the people, whenever the situation arises. Our personnel have earned a good name in public service, which has been recognized at different levels.
Mr. Rajendra disclosed that the rewards have been sanctioned on the recommendations of the senior field officers and the feedback received from the people of affected areas. He said that the spirit of public service would be recognized and appreciated at PHQ level every time. He asked the police personnel to keep it up every front of policing and earn laurels from the public.
