DGP sanctions scholarship for wards of police personnel

JAMMU, Feb 3: Continuing with its endeavour to boost the morale and assist the wards of those police personnel who sacrificed their lives for nation or died while performing their duties, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned scholarship of over Rs 1 lakh in favour of twenty school going wards.
Rs 12,000 have been sanctioned in favour of Arshika Altaf who is pursuing MFSc and Rs 10,000 have been sanctioned for Avneet Kour and Benish Khan doing graduation, Rs 6,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of Mehtab Zaheer and Priyanshi Sharma studying in 8th class. Similarly, Rs 2,400 each have been sanctioned for Amanat Ali, Somaya Zaheer and Mohammad Huzaif studying in classes 5th, 4th and UKG respectively.
Rs 5,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of wards of deceased police personnel who died while in service due to natural/ accidental deaths. Those awarded scholarships are studying in different classes of primary and middle include Masrat Ashraf, Nighat Ashraf, Basit Lateef, Taliya Lateef, Jatin Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Azra Jan, Shahid Irshad, Rubeena and Rustum.
DGP also sanctioned meritorious scholarship of Rs 4,000 each in favour of Anil Singh and Sharad Kumar, wards of serving SPOs for securing above 80 per cent marks in class 10th during the academic session 2018-19.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Education Fund/Police Pariwar Fund. The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of police martyrs to provide them assistance in pursuing education & to boost their morale.
