DGP sanctions special welfare relief

JAMMU, Apr 13: With an aim to provide financial support to the families of the martyr and deceased police personnel and SPOs who attained martyrdom or have passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 72 lakh as Special Welfare Relief to ease up their financial needs.
Singh has sanctioned Special Relief of Rs 6 lakh in favour of NoK of martyr SPO Zubair Ahmad Shah who attained martyrdom in a grenade attack during the course of his engagement in the department.
The DGP also sanctioned special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel SgCt Mushtaq Ahmad, SgCt Ajit Singh and SgCt Ganesh Dass. These personnel passed away due to illness, accidents/ natural death while in service.
Rupees one lakh each to NoKs of deceased Police personnel and rupees fifty thousand to the NoKs of martyr SPO has been already paid through their concerned units for performing their last rites. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs.
Welfare gift of rupees forty thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of SPOs Ashok Kumar and Garib Dass who attained the age of 60 years. The welfare gift has been sanctioned out of SPOs Contributory Welfare Fund.
