DGP sanctions special  welfare relief

SRINAGAR, May 29: Continuing with its endeavour to provide more and more help to the families of the police personnel who passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 2.40 crore as special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased and martyred police personnel who expired while in service.
The special welfare relief of Rs 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased/martyred police personnel SI Jameel Ahmad Lone, ASIs Ghulam Rasool, Mohammad Shafi, HC Aijaz Ahmad, SgCts Inderjeet Singh, Davinder Kumar, Mohammad Yousuf Bajad, CTs Suhail Mushtaq Lohar, Ramiz Raja, Amjad Hussain , CT (P) Sudershan Dev and Follower Ashok Kumar.
Rs one lakh each has been already paid to the families/ NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
From January 2020 to May 2021, Police headquarter has sanctioned Rs 56.30 crore as special welfare relief in favour of NoKs of 283 deceased/martyred police personnel.
Besides the existing welfare schemes, Police Headquarters has taken many initiatives to ensure increased help and assistance for the welfare of its personnel and their families.
