DGP sanctions special  welfare relief, loan

JAMMU, Dec 8: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of martyred and deceased police personnel & SPOs, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 1.43 crore special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel.
Special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SI Ghulam Rasool, HC Farooq Ahmad and W/HC Harbajan Kour who expired due to illness. Rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of legal heirs of deceased HC Mohammad Younis, HC Anoop Singh and HC Deepak Kumar.
The DGP has sanctioned Rs 6 lakh in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SPOs Mulk Raj and Vinod Kumar. Rupees five lakh has been sanctioned in favour of legal heirs of SPO Mohammad Sharief who passed away due to road accident during the course of their engagement with the department.
Meanwhile, the DGP Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 7.65 lakh welfare loan/relief in favour of six police personnel to meet their immediate financial needs. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police welfare Fund.
The welfare loan of Rs 1 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of four police personnel for treatment of their dependents. Similarly, Rs 3 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of one police personnel for self-treatment/treatment of spouse. Also Rs 65,000 welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of three police personnel.
The welfare loan sanctioned to the police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly instalments from their salaries without any interest. However, the welfare relief provided is non-refundable.
