JAMMU, Feb 2: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a welfare loan of Rs 71 lakh in favour of 60 cops.
A statement said that the welfare loan ranging from Rs 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 51 personnel for their/their wards’ marriage.
Similarly, welfare loan of Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh has been sactioned in favour of 7 police personnel for pursuing higher education of their ward, it said.
Besides, the DGP has also sanctioned Rs 50000 each in favour of two police officials for circumcision and yagyanopavit of their wards.
Pertinently, the welfare loan sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund to the police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly instalments from their salaries without any interest.
