DGP sanctions welfare loan, relief worth Rs 99 lakh

JAMMU, Dec 7: Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rs. 99 lakh welfare loan/relief in favour of 83 serving personnel of J&K Police.
Under an order, welfare loan of Rs. 41 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 31 cops to meet expenses of self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents. The amount sanctioned for the medical treatment ranges from Rs. 1 lakh-2 lakh. Apart from this welfare relief of Rs. 1.90 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 12 cops.
Welfare loan ranging from Rs. 50,000 to 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 46 cops for the purpose of their own marriage or for marriage of their wards/relatives.
Similarly, welfare loan of Rs. 3 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of two police personnel for pursuing higher education of their wards and Rs. 50 thousand has been sanctioned in favour of one police personnel for circumcision of his ward.
The welfare loan sanctioned to the cops is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without interest however welfare relief sanctioned is non-refundable.
The welfare loan/relief has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
