JAMMU, July 30: District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu announced salary hike of its employees, here today.
It was announced by the office bearers of the DGPC including president, Ranjeet Singh of the Parbandhak Committee during the press conference in presence of vice president, Balvinder Singh, Surjit Singh (General secretary), Jagpal Singh (Treasurer) and other members including Ranvir Singh, Gurmeet Singh and Harjit Singh.
President Ranjeet Singh said that during the election, the contesting candidates made some promises with Sikh community including celebration of Gurpurabs of all Sikh Guru as per Mool Nanak Shahi Calendar, enhancement of salary of all the employees of DGPC Jammu, insurance cover to all the employees and their family members, to bring transparency in revenue and expenditure of the Gurudwara and others
The first demand has already initiated in the first instance as Gurpurab of Sixth Guru Hargobind Sahib has been celebrated as Nanak Shahi Calendar and now the announcement of most desired demand employees- ‘salary hike’ has been fulfilled which shall be with 10 percent hike on the present basic pay scale and 7.5 percent DA shall be paid on the enhanced salary with effect from the July 1.
The DGPC also decided that enhancement of 7.5 percent DA from July 1 every year along with all the employees would be covered under Central Government’s Insurance Policy (ESIC), besides every effort is being made to provide them social security as per the availability of budget.
The DGPC asked the Sangat to cooperate with the newly constituted DGPC so that they bring reforms as per the aspirations of the Sikh community.
