JAMMU, Dec 20: A delegation of DGPC Jammu led by Ranjeet Singh Tohra president, Balvinder Singh vice president, Surjeet Singh secretary, Ranvir Singh joint secretary, Jagpal Singh cashier, Gurmeet Singh Incharge Dharam Parchar DGPC Jammu met Iqbal Singh Lalpura Chairman of National Commission for Minorities at his office in Delhi and discussed various issues pertaining to the Sikh community.
Vice president Balvinder Singh elaborated in detail the long pending demands of the Sikh Community of JK UT i.e Inclusion of Sikh Youths of Kashmir Valley in special employment package under non-migrant category, inclusion of Sikh member in J&K PSC, inclusion of Punjabi in JK UT official Language Bill 2020, Implementation of 27% of reservation for Lubana Samaj Under OBC at par with other States, implementation of Anand Marriage Act 2012 in JK UT, additional ex-gratia to be paid to the NOK’s of those 14 persons killed in anti- Sikh riots of 1989 in Jammu, make arrangement of political reservation for Sikhs of JK UT and provide OBC status to Sikhs Living in Kashmir, Bhatra Sikhs and Shigligar biradari of JK UT.
Chairman National Minority Commission gave patient hearing and assured the committee members that he will definitely take up these issue with the concerned ministries and at other appropriate forum at the earliest. Chairman was fully convinced that demands discussed are the most legitimate and justified demands and should be addressed as early as possible. He also assured the deputationists that he will also take up the issues pertaining to the Sikh Community, which are in the domain of JK UT with Hon’ble LG of JKUT Manoj Sinha during his upcoming visit of JK UT within next two days.
DGPC delegation also met Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee and discussed in detail the issues of Sikh Community of JK UT and DSGMC assured full support to the DGPC Jammu in redressal of their issues.
