JAMMU, Dec 29: In a poignant tribute to the martyrdom week of the four ‘Sahibzadas’ of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu, in collaboration with the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) Jammu, organized a special screening of the animated film “Chaar Sahibzade” at Abhinav Theatre, here today.
The screening of “Chaar Sahibzadas” served as a meaningful way to honor and remember the sacrifice of the ‘Sahibzadas’ during the martyrdom week, fostering a sense of unity and cultural remembrance within the community.
As the animated film concluded, a shared sense of pain and reverence for the martyrdom of the ‘Sahibzadas’ permeated the spectators. The presence of prominent individuals, including religious leaders and community representatives, underscored the event’s significance in bridging diverse perspectives and fostering a deeper understanding of shared history and sacrifice.
Speaking on the occasion, Balvinder Singh (vice president of DGPC Jammu) acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Secretary of JKAACL in orchestrating various programs like organizing Punjabi Mushairas, Kavi Sammelan etc in both provinces of Jammu & Kashmir for the promotion of Punjabi Language. He also acknowledged contributions of Popinder Singh (Senior Editor of Sheeraza, bi-monthly Punjabi magazine), recognizing his influential role in promoting Punjabi culture.
Surjit Singh (secretary of DGPC Jammu) along with Harjit Singh and Balvinder Singh (Members of DGPC Jammu) were present during the screening of movie. Sukhnanadan Choudary (ex-minister), Vikram Randhawa (ex-MLC), SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar, Surinder Singh (ex-president, DGPC Jammu), Ravinder Singh (ex-director, School Education), Dr S Arvinder Singh Amn (retired additional secretary, JKAACL) and Harjit Singh (Tehsildar South) also graced the occasion.
