JAMMU, Sept 19: Some elected members of District Gurdwara Parbandhak committee and Sikh leaders have strongly resented the rejoining of Uttam Chand as SSP Jammu district.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Ramneek Singh, Raja Singh, Fateh Singh–  Member DGPC Jammu, alleged that Sikh community has been betrayed by BJP leaders in Jammu to keep their top bosses in Delhi happy. They said rejoining of Uttam Chand as SSP Jammu speaks volume about the sell out of the community interests at the hands of those Sikh leaders who entered into the negotiation with the Government and the BJP bosses, setting aside the sentiments of Sikh community which was highly surcharged due to the death of an innocent Sikh youth, Jasjeet Singh, at the hands of brutal force used by police.
Avtar Singh Khalsa said that the community not only in the State and the country but even Sikhs living abroad condemned the killing of Sikh youth and sent a strong message to those who were bent upon the suppress the voice of the minorities. Some Sikh leaders entered into negotiation and diluted the momentum of agitation and hoodwinked the community members who were demanding suspension of the then SSP Uttam Chand and his removal but rejoining of the same officer has sent strong  resentment among the community members and exposed black sheep in the community.
The DGPC members warned the Govt to withdraw this order of  rejoining of SSP otherwise the community will be forced to go for agitation and strong protests across the region.
