JAMMU, Feb 25: District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), with the support of management committees of local Gurdwaras is organizing Yatra to Anandpur Sahib and some other important religious places of Sikhs from March 31 to April 2 this year.
Announcing this at a press conference here today, Avtar Singh Khalsa, general secretary of the DGPC Jammu said that the objective of the Yatra is to create awareness among the members of the community and people in general regarding birth place of Khalsa Panth, its history and day of Baisakhi.
He declared that this grand religious Yatra will be conducted under the guidance, supervision of S Gurdyal Singh Majotra, president Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Gharana and active support of all presidents/ members of different Gurdwaras Management Committees of border area and other parts of Jammu. Avtar Singh said that schedule of the Yatra has been announced from March 31 to April 2, 2017. He said the bus tickets are available for the Sangat up to March 10 at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Tangali, Byaspur, Pindi Sarochan, Dewangarh, Birla Nanowali, Chakrohi, Gharani, Gharana, Suchetgarh, Faloora, Kaloyen and Koulan on payment of Rs 800 per pilgrim. Other senior members Ajit Singh, Joginder Singh, Jaswant Singh, Bachan Singh and Bhagwan Singh also accompanied Khalsa.
