JAMMU, Mar 18: Dharmarth Trust employees, who are on protest for the last 108 days and chain hunger strike for the last 81 days, said that their agitation shall continue till the demand of constitution of Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is fulfilled.
The employees, including Pujaris from various units of the Trust such as Shri Raghunath Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttarbehni , participated in the protest.
President of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association, Vivek Bandral appealed to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to concede their demands as assured by him during a meeting in order to flourish tourism sector in J&K.
Alleging that corrupt practices of the trustee were responsible to ruin the temples under Dharmarth Trust, he said after constitution of board like Vaishno Devi Shrine and Shri Amarnath Shrine Boards, tourists will visit these temples.
The protesting employees appealed to all social and political organization to come forward for saving the dying heritage of Dogra culture, especially historical temples so the tourist sector will flourish in J&K.
The persons who sat on hunger strike today, included Pt Jivan Lal, Tilak Raj, Makhan Lal, Pt Ajay Kumar, Pt Ashwani Kumar, Bhikham Chand, Raghuvir Singh, Pt Om Prakash, Poli Devi and Sheela Devi.
Among others, present in the protest dharna, included Ex-President Kernail Chand Thakur, ex-General Secretary Pritam Sharma, Sunit Sharma, Subash, Pt Parshotam, Pt Brijmohan Sharma, Pt Om Parkash, Pt Rampal, Pt Balwant Shastri, Vimal Khajuria, Sat Paul, Pawan, Deepu, Rinku, Makhnu, Jivan, Bushan, Sonali, Renu, Anju, Sheetal, Sonika, Sukeshni, Rita Slathia, Rekha, Harbans Lal, Surjeet Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Jagjeet Chand, Sahil Sharma, Pt Babu Bishambar Lal, Reeta Slathia, Raj Kumari, Leela Devi, Sheetal, Rajani, Nisha and Sonika.
