JAMMU, Jan 25 P N Dhar’s book on famous shrines of Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir hits stands today. The book was released by the wife of the author Ratna Dhar at a simple and impressive function held at Roop Nagar near here today. Ratna Dhar besides, a retired School Master is also a poet and is writing under pen name Anzaan.
The family has few publications to its credit also. P N Dhar a resident of Sector 1, Roop Nagar is a retired KAS Officer. The family has a few publications to its credit.
The book contains detailed history of all ancient Hindu shrines located in J&K. It is composed in four parts. However, all camp shrines of Kashmiri Pandits, established or set up after independence have been left out. Many other revered shrines, not existing now have also not been mentioned in the book the author said.
The publisher calls upon the younger generation of Hindus in particular to promote and preserve their rich culture who have been visiting and worshiping these shrines form ancient times. It will inspire the community pilgrim lovers to visit these Dharmik Sthals and get blessed.
The 170 page book costs Rs 120. The author said the book has more to be seen in the context of Dharmik exposure and less on literary merits. The function was attended by locals and reputed persons of the area included well known writer and poet Makhan Lal Pandit and Prem Nath Prem and they all admired the attempts of the author on this count.
