JAMMU, May 20: Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma today visited COVID Health Center Udhampur and reviews facilities created therein.
COVID Health Center Udhampur has been created in a separate wing in the premises of District Hospital Udhampur. The center was visited by DHS Jammu on the directions of Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo. She was accompanied by Controller Stores Dr Suresh Gupta and DNO QAP Dr Vijay Raina.
CMO Udhampur Dr KC Dogra and MS DH Udhampur Dr Vijay Basnotra gave a detailed description of the facilities created in the hospitals in the district and other newly created establishments for COVID positive patients. DHS Jammu also took round of the various sections of the hospitals which included Trauma Section of the hospital where ICU wards fully equipped with ventilator support facilities have been established.
Dr Sharma also visited Dialysis unit of the Hospital and was happy to see patients undergoing Dialysis there. Thereafter, she visited the Sampling Booth in DH Udhampur and directed MS Udhampur to give priority to pregnant ladies, elderly and sick patients and make them comfortable during sample collection.
DHS Jammu interacted with the staff and doctors and directed them to undertake all safety precautions while dealing with the COVID positive patients. It is pertinent to mention here that DH Udhampur has started admission of COVID positive patients and 3 patients are already admitted there.
Later, the DHS visited the newly established COVID Care Centre in GNM School at Bailey, Udhampur. CMO Udhampur and District Health Officer also accompanied the Director who was satisfied with the preparations done there at war footing to accommodate the COVID positive patients if and when required.
On the way back, the Dr Sharma visited Sample Collection Booth created at Government School Tikri and interacted with the staff and BMO Tikri Dr Manohar Lal.
