Srinagar, Nov 16: The Director of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) conducted two-day tour of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district to assess winter preparations.
Dr. M.A. Rather, accompanied by CMO Bandipora, BMO Gurez, and other health officers, inspected healthcare arrangements and facilities in Gurez and other health facilities.
During the visit, Dr. Rather visited CHC Dawer and other hospitals, commending the dedicated staff for their tireless efforts under challenging circumstances.
He also engaged with local residents and assured them that genuine demands would be promptly addressed. He met with PRI members to discuss the status of healthcare arrangements.
The Director emphasized the need for Chief Medical Officers to conduct routine field visits and maintain rosters for assessments at sub-center, PHC, and CHC levels.
He directed the CMO and BMO concerned to make all necessary arrangements ahead of winter, as Gurez usually remains cut off from the rest of the valley due to heavy snowfall.
He advised them to keep adequate staff, drugs, and other logistics available in the area to ensure that people living there won’t face any difficulty.
The Director also visited different institutes in Tulail, took stock of all facilities, and interacted with staff. He held a review meeting at District Hospital Bandipora, where he directed the CMO and MS, to make rotational arrangements until vacancies are filled.
