DHSK inspects under-construction Pahalgam hospital

Srinagar, Aug 26: Director of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, today directed the concerned authorities to expedite and complete the first two floors of the Civil Hospital in Pahalgam at the earliest.
He issued these directions during a comprehensive inspection of the under-construction hospital, which aims to provide services not only to the local population but also to tourists and pilgrims.
During the visit, Dr. Bakshi emphasized the need to prioritize essential facilities as per the modern prototype of any CHC-level hospital.
He stressed the importance of completing the first and second floors as soon as possible to benefit both the local population and the large number of tourists, including Yatra pilgrims, visiting Pahalgam, Directorate said.
Dr. Bakshi also inspected various sections of the old hospital building to assess the health services being provided to patients.
He was accompanied by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Anantnag, the Incharge Officer Yatra DHSK, the Block Medical Officer Sallar (Medical Director Yatra), the Nodal Officer Yatra Pahalgam, and other staff members.
In addition, DHSK conducted a post-Yatra debriefing meeting and directed the concerned officers to ensure that special care is taken during the dismantling of medical facilities so that no garbage is left behind.
He appreciated the efforts of all health management and staff in the successful culmination of Yatra 2024 via the Pahalgam Axis.
