DHSK visits Gurez to assess healthcare services

SRINAGAR, Sept 24: The Director of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK), Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, visited the remote areas of the Gurez Block in District Bandipora today to assess the healthcare delivery systems in the region.
During the visit, Dr. Bakshi inspected various healthcare facilities, including CHC Dawar, PHC Sheikhpora, PHC Budgam, AAM-SC Badouab, and AAM-SC Angaikot.
The tour focused on reviewing the status of human resources, medicine availability, national health schemes, and identifying measures needed for the upgradation of these facilities.
He was accompanied by Dr. Tahira Nazir, BMO Gurez, and other senior officers and officials of Block Gurez.
In addition to addressing various local issues, Dr. Bakshi assured the public in Dawar that an eye camp would be organized at CHC there soon.
At PHC Budgam, he assured residents that the concerned construction agency would be approached to prioritize the handover of the new maternity block and the fencing of the PHC.
At PHC Sheikhpora, Dr. Bakshi promised the provision of a 4×4 ambulance at the earliest, along with the operationalization of high-end equipment for better patient care.
He also instructed that a refresher course for ASHA workers on Induction Modules I to V and other capacity-building workshops be organized to ensure the smooth functioning of the ASHA program in the block.
