Srinagar, Oct 17: The Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department announced today that all Diagnostic centers, laboratories, and single-doctor clinics in J&K will be mapped under the Clinical Establishments Act and the Health Facility Registry (HFR) of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
The concerned, in this regard, have been directed to register within two weeks or face action. “This step shall ensure verified health facilities and healthcare professionals in the private sector,” the H&ME stated.
It noted that to streamline the functioning of these establishments in the UT, the concerned parties will need to register under the Clinical Establishments Act and the Health Facility Registry (HFR).
Officials explained that the Health Facility Registry is a comprehensive, verified repository of health facilities across the country, encompassing both modern and traditional systems of medicine.
“It includes both public and private health facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, imaging centers and pharmacies.”
The H&ME stated that this step has been initiated to enable the general public to access verified Private Health Facilities by mapping them on the HFR of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
“This will streamline and bring transparency to the delivery of healthcare in the private sector and ensure accountability by verifying the institutions and their manpower,” Secretary H&ME Bhupinder Kumar said.
Simultaneously, the H&ME added that private healthcare facilities should also register their workers/staff on the health facility registry to ensure that verified health professionals are working in the private sector.
It is important to note that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health ecosystem was implemented by the Government of J&K in July 2022. One hundred percent of Government Health Facilities have been verified and registered on the HFR Portal.
Officials reported that 82% of Government doctors have been registered on the HPR, 78 Lacs ABHA IDs have been created and 100% of the empaneled Hospitals under the AB-PMJAY have been verified and registered on the ABDM Digital Portal.
