JAMMU, Apr 9: The Government has enhanced the diet charges from Rs 50 to Rs 100 per inmate per day with effect from 01-04-2014 in respect of inmates of various orphanages in the State.
This information was given by the Minister for Social Welfare Bali Bhagat while replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Vibodh Gupta in Legislative Council today.
The Minister said that the Planning and Development Department has provided the additionality of Rs 182.03 lakh on account of enhanced diet charges for the inmates of Gujar and Bakerwal Hostels, Pahari Hostels and Nari-Niketan/Bal Ashrams. He further said that the diet charges have recently been enhanced and presently there is no proposal under consideration of the Government for further enhancement of diet charges @ Rs 150 per day.
