LEH, Mar 25: District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh organized one day District Level Science Exhibition and Idea Competition here today. CEC LAHDC Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, CEC said that such science exhibitions play an important role in inspiring young minds to develop scientific temperament and imbibes spirit of enquiry in its participants.
Speaking on the occasion Joint Director Education, Tashi Dolma appreciated the endeavor of participating schools and DIET in making the event successful.
Dr Dorjey Angchuk from DIHAR, Dr Tsewang Tamchos and Dr. Jigmet Yangchan from SKAUST were the judges for the event. Dr. Angchuk said that each year the competition is growing in terms of participation, innovative ideas, creativity and standard of models presented.
In the exhibition a total of 35 Government schools participated including 16 middle schools, 14 high schools and 5 higher secondary schools of Leh district.
Later, in the prize distribution function, in junior category Government Middle School Skalzangling bagged first position whereas, GMS Nyoma and GMS Khacheythang settled for second and third positions respectively. In senior category, Government Boys Hr. Sec. School, Govt High School Wanla and GHS Igoo were placed in first, second and third positions respectively.
