Different organizations celebrate 75th Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 17: Different organizations here celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India with fervor and gaiety.
BN College of Education Sunjwan organized various activities to celebrate 75th Independence Day. The College organized poster making, art-craft, patriotic songs and poetry recitation, tricolor food making and tricolor Rangoli design making activities which were coordinated by Aasiya Shabir, Lecturer BN College & Incharge Activities under the guidance of Lalit Kumar, College Principal. Special cleanliness drive was also organized by Wasim Kolhi, Managing Director of the College from August 9 to 15 in which faculty and staff participated.
NSS Unit of MAM College celebrated 75th Independence Day with fervor and gaiety and the National Flag was hoisted by College Principal, Prof. Sunil Uppal in the presence of Dr. Koushal Kiran and Prof. Shabir Ahmed.
Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Government Degree College Sidhra organized an online intra-college activity on TB awareness to commemorate 75th Independence Day. A number of RRC volunteers participated in the activity with full enthusiasm. College Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma stressed upon the students and society to always actively participate in such events to save people from health, social and economic losses associated with TB.
Government Degree College Ramkote celebrated 75th Independence Day and the National Flag was hoisted by Dr Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the College.
V.K Sarvodaya School, Narwal and V.K Sarvodaya School, Trikuta Nagar, both managed by Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam Welfare Society celebrated 75th Independence Day with fervor and gaiety. At V.K Sarvodaya School, Rajiv Nagar, Narwal, Head of the School, Yogita Bakshi welcomed the distinguished guests and the National Flag was hoisted by Working Committee member of the Society, Bharat Bhushan Gupta in the presence of school teachers, staff members, children and locals of the area. School children presented some cultural items including patriotic songs and were given monetary prizes.
Vandana Saini, School Head at V.K Sarvodaya School, Trikuta Nagar accompanied by teachers, staff members and school children hoisted the National Flag.
GGHSS Kathua celebrated Independence Day wherein flag hosting ceremony was done by Principal, Kewal Singh which was followed by National Anthem recitation.
Government Model Hr Sec School (Boys), Samba celebrated 75th Independence Day and the National Flag was hoisted by College Principal, Satish Verma in the presence of Senior Lecturer, Charu Sahawney who won third prize in National Anthem singing competition in Individual Category under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Arya Samaj Kotli Colony Rehari, Jammu with enthusiasm. Hawan-Yagya was performed on this occasion and this was followed by recitation of patriotic songs. The National Flag was hoisted by JMC Councillor, Arun Khanna of Ward 25 along with Kuldeep Gupta, President Arya Samaj and senior members of Arya Samaj-Satvir Gupta, Jagdish Gupta, Rajeev Gupta, Prem Rasotra and others. The programme ended with recitation of National Anthem.
Batwal Youth Development Committee celebrated 75th Independence Day with great zeal by organizing a function at Purkhoo-Garhi where Sub. Major Ramesh Sargotra (Retired) hoisted the National Flag. Addressing the gathering he said on every Independence Day we not only celebrate our freedom but also pay tributes to those who fought for it. On this occasion eminent persons of Batwal community like R.L Kaith, Sarpanch Ghasita Ram Lakhotra, Naib Sarpanch Ram Lal Lakhotra and others were felicitated for social services.
On 75th Independence Day, Janata Dal Secular (JDS) acting president, Ranjay Bargotra unfurled the National Flag at party office in Jammu. Speaking on the occasion he remembered freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country and asked the people to safeguard the hard earned freedom. National Anthem was recited and sweets were also distributed on this occasion. Seniors JDS leaders present on the occasion were S. Kulbir Singh, Ram Rattan Sharma, H.C Dogra and R.R Sharma.
Kailash Nagar Welfare Society, Talab Tillo celebrated 75th Independence Day wherein Ankush Abrol, vice president Youth National Conference hoisted the National Flag and this was followed by recitation of National Anthem. Meritorious student of Class 10 and 12 were also felicitated on this occasion.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Panchayat Gurha Brahmana (West), Akhnoor. Sarpanch, Leela Devi and Naib Sarpanch, Sudesh Kumari hoisted the National Flag.
The Tricolour was unfurled at Mattan by BJP leader and Councilor, Rajesh Koul in presence of BJP incharge South Kashmir, Veer Saraf and other leaders.
Prof. P.L Kaul, Chairman MWWA Greater Kailash and BJP In-charge Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, J&K with his team of MWWA organized 75th Independence Day celebrations at MRS Park in Greater Kailash. Children who participated in the programme were Kanhiya Sharma, Raghav, Danvi Dubey, Agastya Dubey and Pankhudi Sharma. The programme ended with National Anthem recitation and slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Bhartiya Modi Army (BMA) J&K celebrated 75th Independence Day at Mahant Ram Lakhan Dass Memorial Higher Secondary School Burj Mandir, Marh under the leadership of Sukhjit Singh, president BMA J&K. Dalbir Singh, BMA youth president J&K and Chief Trustee of the School organized the programme while Sushma Sharma, national president Mahila Morcha; Satish Vaid, senior vice president JKUT and others were also present on the occasion.
Lakhanpur Municipal Committee (MC) celebrated 75th Independence Day with spirit of nationalism and MC Chairman, Ravinder Sharma along with Vice Chairman Kaka Ram hoisted the National Flag.
PHE Department Drivers, Cleaners Union Jammu Province organized a colourful programme to celebrate the 75th Independence Day at PHE Complex, B.C Road, Jammu. The National Flag was hoisted by Union chairman, Kartar Chand Dubey.
