JAMMU, Oct 23: Different organizations here today celebrated Dhanwantri Jayanti and paid rich tribute to Bhagwan Dhanwantri, the founder of Ayurvedic System of Medicines.
Jammu Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress celebrated Dhanwantri Jayanti and organized a traditional Hawan at Panch Mandir, Trikuta Nagar which was attended by a large number of Ayurvedic professionals besides Dr. T.R Gupta, Dr. H.N Patwari, Dr. B.D Gupta, Dr. B.R Sharma, Dr. A.K Chowdhury, Dr. O.P Gupta and Dr. Deenmani Sharma. Rich tributes were paid to Bhagwan Dhanwantri for his contribution in eradicating human sufferings.
Indigenous Medicines Organisation (IMO) commemorated Jayanti of Bhagwan Dhanwantri, creator of Ayurvedic System of Medicine. The function was held under the chairmanship of Dr. K.K Gandotra, former ISM Deputy Director in which large number of professionals participated and paid tributes to Bhagwan Dhanwantri. Dr. Gandotra stressed on to follow the path shown by Dhanwantri Ji and serve the ailing humanity selflessly with the spirit of dedication.
Dhanwantri Jayanti was celebrated in the premises of Rahul Pharma, Gangyal and the celebration was attended by a large number of Ayurvedic professionals and industrialists. Dr. Varinder Mahajan, CEO of Rahul Pharma spoke in detail about the magnetic effect of certain herbs and classical formulation in the management of chronic diseases.
Dr. Mahesh Chander Sharma, general secretary IMO said that Dhanwantri Jayanti is observed to rededicate to the profession of Ayurveda and society.
Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardani celebrated Dhanwantri Jayanti with theme ‘Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda’. Dhanwantri Hawan was performed at the institute which was followed by distribution of prizes and certificates by the chief guest, Jai Singh, Tehsildar, Jammu North to winners of various competitions organized on the occasion. Suman Sharma, chairperson, Shri Sain Charitable Trust for Higher Education Jammu delivered presidential address.
On Dhanwantri Jayanti, District AYUSH Office Kathua under the direction of Director AYUSH J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh and Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey celebrated the 7th National Ayurveda Day 2022 in collaboration with District Administration. The programme started with Hawan and offering floral tributes to Bhagwan Dhanwantri. The chief guest on this occasion was Dr. Y.N Dogra, ex-Registrar Board of Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy and guest of honour was Dr. C.R Munday, Rtd. Deputy Director ISM and he said that Ayurveda is perceived as one of the most ancient and well documented system of medicine equally relevant in modern times.
